I've read many blogs here on ActiveRain lately following suit with the negative national data and news stories currently circulating.
I don't agree with the gloom personally, and its not because I blind myself with positive thoughts. I believe this way because out here in our neck of the woods we're not seeing the signs! The Slow Death of the Salton Sea - Its a Southern California Problem!!!! We often drive out to Yuma, Arizona at least once a month for some fun and recreation. Along the way we travel south on the 86 through Imperial Valley. Every time we do, we are intrigued by the sight, stories, and quite honestly, the smell of the Salton Sea. This past weekend on our way back from Yuma, we had some time to stop and check out the beaches of the Salton Sea.
It was a depressing detour.

What's That White Stuff? -or- Snow in Beaumont, CA? I Thought This Was Sunny Southern California!!!! I know people in some parts of the country don't consider waking up to snow in their back yard as unusual, but here in Southern California its a bit of an oddity. But that's exactly what happened to us today! Here in Beaumont, California, snow is something that MAYBE you see on the view of the San Bernardino Mountains every once in a while, or in a Christmas special on Lifetime!
