Dozens of classes are taught at the “Becoming an Arizona Outdoors Woman” weekend August 14-16 at Camp Friendly Pines near Prescott Arizona. Enrollment for the weekend is $240.00. The Arizona Trail Association (http://www.aztrail.org) , National Public Lands Day http://www.publiclandsday.org) and Outdoor Arizona (http://www.voaz.org) are all looking for volunteers for the September 29th National Public Lands Day. Volunteers are needed for morning and afternoon volunteering to help spruce up public trails. If you are interested you can also call 480-966-2689 for more information. And if Sept 29th does not work for your calender but you are interested in helping out there are other volunteer opportunities with these groups as well. The public lands belong to us all. La Mirada is a neighborhood of single level homes located in the Superstition Foothills community of Gold Canyon, Arizona. Gold Canyon Arizona is an unincorporated community located about 45 minutes east of the Phoenix SkyHarbor airport at the foot of the beautiful Superstition Mountains. The community is made up of year round residents as well as seasonal "snow-birds" who come to the Gold Canyon area to escape the snow and cold of the areas they come from. There is something for everyone. Several award winning golf courses are located in the area. There are hiking trails as well as walking and biking paths. Desert wildlife abounds in the area.
