Katy ISD is holding its 12TH annual summer Band Camp on July 21 to Monday to Friday July 25, 2014 the camp is being held at the new Katy ISD High School being Tompkins High School. The camp is offered to 7TH, 8TH and 9TH grade KISD band students.

Community Dinner at Tompkins High School Katy Obra Tompkins High School in Katy will host a community dinner on Saturday November 2, 2013. This is the newest High School in the Katy ISD system having opened its doors just this past August. The dinner is sponsored by the fine orchestra department. The school is so new their web site is still under construction but I am positive it will work when completed!

It is Official New Katy ISD High School Named Tompkins On January 22, 2013 the Katy ISD Trustees voted 7-0 to named the seventh Katy ISD High School Tompkins High School. I had previously written a blog which discussed the naming of the new school could be after Obra O. D. Tompkins Jr. who spent over 30 years of his career working in the KISD system where his legacy shows he was a trailblazer, mentor for numerous kids and dedicated educator.
