Lola Audu,a local Realtor and very intelligent lady has an insightful, thought provoking post featured today: The Flattened Life - The Impact of Digital Natives in a Traditional Realty Word I was commenting and found my response growing way too long, so I am posting my reply here instead:
I find the digital trend is going faster and faster. I think this speed is what is spooking so many people. As a baby boomer, I am excited and thrilled to be along for the ride. As with anything new, it takes a while for all to hop on board (4 comments)

- 04/20/09 07:31 AM
What's the Impact of Paying Bills Online? : TreeHugger has a great article that shows exactly how much energy you can save and how it will affect your local environment. Gone are the days when we can say, " Oh, my little contribution doesn't matter in the overview of environmental change. Each of us has an impact and we can each change our world one bill-day at a time. I went to the Payitgreen.org site and used their green calculator to see how much I am saving by going online to pay my bills.
In one year, I will save 7# (7 comments)

Lowell is a great American home town with historic homes, businesses, and lots of charm. We have created a photo tour of Lowell, Michigan. Lowell is a small community on the Flat River, about 14 miles from Grand Rapids. Since Lowell is right next door to us, we find ourselves visiting often. active rain: TV Tootsie Turns To Internet for News
- 02/04/09 07:19 AM
It just struck me the other night. I listened to the network news on Thursday night, no new news. Just a boring rehash of the same old thing we have been hearing day after day......market has crashed, no jobs, woe is us. I thought I should check online, there is probably a hot scoop there that hasn't hit the airwaves yet.
Well, a itty bitty lightbulb went off in my head.

The January Series is back at Calvin College this month. We have several talks that we have attended already. Today, we have an offer we are preparing and the wind chill is -18 Degrees. I decided to stay home and listen live to the 1 hour presentation by film director, Robert Rooy, on Microfinance - Changing lives in Poverty. Robert has filmed all over the world for non-profits so they can tell their stories via film. He is an accomplished director and donates his off time to helping non-profits film in remote locations.

They are all micro brews that are unique. This is the second time we have hosted a "BEER TASTING BRUNCH". What a lot of fun. Now, I must say I am not a beer aficionado. The cinnamon rolls would have more appeal for me but some of these specialty brews are really unusual. One of my favs was the Wild Blue, made with Michigan blueberries. I know it sounds strange but it was really good! The Oatmeal Stout was hefty.....guaranteed to have you napping on the couch (12 comments)

We had been warned and yes, it was here when we woke up this morning. The snow storm predicted for Grand Rapids is here. We have 6- 10 inches of snow falling last night and today, at about 1-2 inches an hour. All schools and some public buildings are closed. Roads are snow covered, visibility is OK. Just thought you might like to see a few pictures of our stormy weather.
Terry is shoveling the driveway, while I stay inside, where it is nice and warm.
