Shannon Forest is located in Spring TX in Northwest Harris County and is located between I-45 and 249 on Stuebner Airline and just between Louetta and Spring Cypress Roads. Shannon Forest has around 150 homes. Homes were mostly built in the mid 1980's to the mid 1990's, and a few in 2000's. There are large towering pines and hardwoods throughout the subdivision. The subdivision has some great amenities including a very nice club house with a swimming pool, playground & tennis courts. The baby boomers are now starting to think about retiring in a few years and the rising cost of property taxes are on their minds. Retirees who live on a fixed income are very worried as their properties have increased in value. Some have concerns that they will be forced from their homes even though they have paid off their mortgages. For Texans, legislators have devised a number of provisions designed to help seniors.
