Have you heard the news? Pearland has been selected to host the 2014 United States Quadriplegic Rugby Association (USQRA) Quad Rugby Mountain Sectional rugby tournament! Wheelchair rugby teams from across the U.S. will come to the Pearland Recreation Center & Natatorium this Friday, February 28 through Sunday, March 2 to compete, with the winners proceeding on to Nationals. By hosting this tournament, the City of Pearland is providing local athletes with physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in sports. This is one of the greatest services Pearland Parks & Recreation can provide to the Pearland community.

The Independence Park pool located at 3919 Liberty Dr. will be OPEN this summer following a reversal of last year's fiscally conservative budgetary measure to close the pool. The Pearland City Council voted to open the City's only public outdoor pool during the May 21 City Council meeting.

Stop by Centennial Park (3219 McLean Road) or Southdown Park (2150 Countryplace Parkway) splash pads and spend some time. Both locations are open from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. and closed on Tuesdays for routine maintenance.
This is a great way to beat the heat - and as you know - its only going to get hotter in Texas!
