branson: What is it really like to live in Branson MO? - 01/19/22 05:23 AM
If you have found this page I bet you've been to Branson, MO before?
Have you wondered what it's really like living in the tourist town of Branson, and if you would really like living here? Like any other tourist town it's always undergoing changes but at the same time it's very exciting to see something new! With a small population compared to the 9 million visitors we get, we definitely have a "build it and they will come" mentality. There's great opportunity here, no doubt about it! It's beautiful and there's so many awesome things to do, so many interesting and … (2 comments)

branson: The Ozarks Hillbilly- Culture and Traditions - 12/30/16 07:55 PM

Published on Jan 28, 2014 This 1999 film takes a look at the history of the Ozarks and the stereotypes that the region has inspired over the years.
This course provides a multidisciplinary introduction to the study of the Ozarks region and its inhabitants, including Ozarks history and geography, regional folk culture and traditions, and current issues. Credit to Missouri University.

I've really enjoyed watching and learning about my heritage here in the Ozarks, since I have to admit-I have some deep hillbilly roots! If you're interested in learning about our unique culture and area, this film is very well put … (2 comments)

branson: What do you think of Branson Famous? - 01/12/15 12:27 PM
I have to say I enjoy seeing the familiar faces and sites around town I see everyday on TV, and yes our hillbilly accents as well... it's a bit surreal! I've seen some really mixed reviews and comments on Facebook though. Obviously the show is set up for publicity, and has to have some drama to be entertaining and hold your attention. It definitely has that! The singing parts through the show throw you off a bit, but then you realize what talented country singers the Baldknobbers are and you have to keep watching:) As far as what people are saying about the personalities of the show, it's … (0 comments)

branson: The History of The Ozarks - 04/14/14 05:04 AM
The Ozarks is one of the most unique and intriguing areas is the United States. Our region covers the southern portion of Missouri across the border into the northern half of Arkansas. Surprisingly the whole region is the size of Louisiana! Our landscape has been carved by water over time through its limestone terrain creating many caverns and breathtaking cliffs and rock formations. Its creeks and rivers were home to peaceful Osage Indians who survived on fishing and hunting near the banks of these waterways. From exploring the rivers of this land, we can see why they called Missouri “land of … (4 comments)

branson: Hilton Hotel Now Re-Open in Downtown Branson, MO - 09/17/12 09:43 PM

The Branson Landing Hilton Hotel, located in the heart of Downtown is now a bright shining star once more. After being hit by the F2 tornado that came through last April. The Hilton had to close it's doors all summer for renovations, several windows were blown out since it was in the direct path of the twister that came down Hwy 76 and across Taneycomo. The Hilton just opend last week and we ate dinner in the Level 3 Steakhouse, it was fabulous by the way!! A great place to stay and good food, so glad it's open again.

branson: Branson Tornado Update - 03/02/12 12:45 PM
Hi Everyone,
I've received several e-mails over the past couple days, and wanted to say thanks for your concern and well wishes!  It was quite a shock to hear that a F-2 tornado had hit the Ozarks and Hwy 76 in Branson at 2 in the morning when no one expected it. Since we never have had an actual tornado in the area since the 1960's it was very hard for us to believe our eyes the next day. The tornado had skipped about and took out a couple of our older hotels west of the Titanic, a couple T-shirt stores in that area were … (0 comments)

branson: Property Ownership Renters vs. Owners in Branson, MO - 08/04/11 05:38 PM

This chart shows home occupancy within the Branson area (Zip Code 65616).
A high percentage of ownership can indicate an area where people like to live and stable property prices. While a high percentage of rentals could indicate an area with shifting demographics, a younger community, or possibly a downtown area. Which yes does apply to Branson, plus rental property is in demand with seasonal workers & entertainers.
High vacancy rates can indicate that the market is unhealthy and that it could be tough to sell a home in this area. Vacant properties are higher than usual, but are … (6 comments)

branson: Top 10 Reasons To Retire In Branson, MO - 01/30/11 03:47 PM
If you have thought about retirement in the mid-west why not consider Branson, MO? Most of my clients are retirees and this list includes some reasons why they have choosen Branson over other places in the country.

1. Mild Weather With Change of Seasons-During the winter when most of the country  is overwhelmed by heavy snow and ice Branson and the Ozarks have a more comfortable average of 40 degrees. If we have snow or ice it usually only lasts a day or two and happens 2-3 times during the season. It's  just enough to add a touch of winter to … (8 comments)

branson: What is Branson Like in the Off Season? - 01/10/11 06:02 AM
Why not come to Branson in January? There's no one here but locals, resturants are open and there's great shopping deals at all the out-let malls. Here's what the strip (Hwy 76) looks like in the off season of January. Most all of the shows and Silver Dollar City are closed, so there's not much to do but shopping and eating, but it still makes a nice get away. Especially a cozy cabin with a fireplace, should be cheaper too!

branson: The Village at Indian Point-Condo For Sale Near Branson & Silver Dollar City - 05/10/10 06:11 AM
Just listed a really great deal on a lake front condo on Table Rock Lake walk-in unit at The Village at Inidan Point! My sellers were also my buyers last week, since we found another good buy on a house. So they are no longer in need of this condo. Priced at only $123,500, similar units are listed in the $130s and $140s. It has what most Branson buyers want, lakefront, walk to water, ammenities, pool, dock. This one has a little of everything all wraped up in one. HOA fees are normal $210 a month and everything is taken care of. … (1 comments)

branson: Branson Zip Lines-The latest news - 03/04/10 05:20 AM

I'm sure you have heard the buzz about zip lines and canopy tours coming to Branson. Actually the first one to take shape is just 10 miles north of Branson. You can see the blue roof tops now and it looks like it is going to be very appealing to tourists who drive by. It was really exciting to watch the helicopter "construct" the towers as we would make our early morning commute to school. They have added all the lines and maybe by now they will add parking and the information center buildings.
I think they will do well, even if … (7 comments)

branson: Branson West 9 Unit Office Building For Sale Or Lease - 12/30/09 03:02 PM
For those of you not familiar with Branson, Notch MO is a little strip of commercial buildings, condos and motels between Branson West and Branson MO. If you blink you might miss it, but it's great central location. Have you ever heard of Silver Dollar City? A year around theme park with the theme being "the ozarks" with craftsmen, rides, great food and shopping, and festivals--kind of like Disney but smaller and no Mickey Mouse:) Notch is just a mile from this theme park, and one of my clients just finished this office building including nine offices ready to go with fresh carpet and paint. In fact … (1 comments)

branson: Summer Night at Table Rock Lake Indian Point - 11/04/09 02:47 AM

Sometimes I take so many pictures I forget what I've taken. We were on our way to check out a For Sale By Owner Lake home on Indian Point just down the road from Silver Dollar City. It was such a great evening, this picture makes me think of all the people out there having fun on the water. Can see the Show Boat Branson Belle to the left? We had met some friends at this little German Resturant called the Altenholf Inn, which is this little house on the Lake, this picture was taken from their deck, so you get to lay back have some German … (3 comments)
