According to the hummingbird website www.RubyThroat.org this is extremely rare. Couple things I learned while visiting www.RubyThroat.org were that hummingbirds are rarely seen in Europe and those are birds that have escaped captivity. I had no idea they didn't have hummingbirds in Europe. I also learned about hummingbird moths, which apparently act so exactly like a hummingbird that they are often mistaken for baby humming birds. AT&T Park in San Francisco is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon (bring your sunscreen) Our gas and electric company notified us of a planned outtage on 7/29/09. This means for me - no work. Luckily it is also "grandpa day", the day when my dad takes the grandkids to do something fun. Rhiannon and I, along with another mother and 2 graduating 5th graders, went to San Francisco to celebrate graduation on the last day of school, June 10. We had planned to visit the Museum of Modern Art, which is closed Wednesdays (obviously, we didn't plan ahead). Since we were near Yerba Buena Gardens, we started walking that way. My mother is helping to organize this wonderful event and I wanted to share it. For those of you who were not lucky enough to know Moses Guillory, he was the co-owner of Diablo Realty. Before school started this year, my daughter and I decided to have a day out in the city. I find it criminal that we live so close to San Francisco and we do not take advantage of the wonderful museums. We chose to visit the Museum of Modern Art since they were having a Frida Kahlo exhibit. I like to expose Rhiannon to interesting women in history and today, and she loves art so this was perfect for both of us.
