25 years and counting, a great record for staying with a great company. I read this morning about a loan mortgage company and it's employees who stuck with them. The depth of their loyalty and commitment towards striving not only for themselves but also the company they worked for. I love that. It's so easy to jump around these days. I find agents changing companies at a drop of a hat. Hypertufa, hypertufa, hypertufa.....say that ten times fast!!! I discovered this very interesting materiel/style of art today at the Knoxville's Farmers Market. It caught my eye from a distance and I was quite intriqued. It looks like it is a concrete substance, but far from it. It is created by blending a mixture of Portland cement, perlite, vermiculite, peat moss and water. It creates a permanent structure that is much lighter than concrete and best of all it will not crack with outside exposure.

Yesterday we had our annual summer client and customer appreciation picnic. We held it at Wing Deer park in Johnson City Tennessee and co-hosted it with Steve Reed Benchmark mortgage. who is also a blogger here on Active Rain. It was a fantastic turn out, we had a great spread of food, including hamburgers and hotdoogs right off the grill! The kids enjoyed squirt guns and the adults played corn hole. Just a great get together. Thank you to all our clients and customers!!!

This week I took a coworker to Barberitos in Johnson City; it’s a smaller chain restaurant featuring burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and really great chips and salsa. Barberitos is set up like a Subway but for Mexican food. You pick what kind of food you want, then choose as you go what you want in it. What a great day it was on the lake yesterday. The longest day of the year and weather was iffy! However, our day on the lake ended up being perfect. Instead of our planned picnic, (it was pouring down rain for 2 hours before we hit the boat) we ended up going to The Captains Table Hampton Tennessee. and enjoying a leisurly lunch before heading out to the stormy looking sky. By the time we reached the marina, it was gorgeous, and it stayed that way for the 4 hours we spent on the lake....and then the clouds started to roll … (8 comments)

I just read a post about it being the first day of summer, and spending it on the lake. Well AMEN to that! Summertime is here! I am on my way out to enjoy beautiful Watauga Lake Butler Tennessee. Watauga Lake is especially perfect due to it's cleanliness and lack of residential waterfront. 80% of Watauga lake is Cherokee National Forest and the other 20% is residential and marinas.
