As a Greenville NC resident Ive been able to witness not one 100+Yr Flood but TWO. Floyd in 1999 was a catastrophic event that caught Eastern NC off guard. This event did teach important lessons to first responders, home owners, businesses, and government officials of how to prepare for any such event in the future... which occurred last week as the Tar River crested 12+ feet over flood level. As the waters start receding this week it is important to continue the outreach that was witnessed during the crisis. There are still many returning home to devastation and ruin.
