Lake Forest Park is a great place to go look for choices on the market!!!! According to the NWMLS as of today on my report, there have been 115 residential listings active this year. Of the 115, 67 are active on the market (available for sale), 1 is contingent, 4 are subject to inspection, and 35 have sold since 1/1/2008. Prices range from $179,000 to $2,495,000.
Last year (2007) 42 houses had sold by today, so we are 7 houses behind for now, but not too bad overall.

Brier WA real estate is happening! For 2008, there are 52 real estate listings so far according to the NWMLS. Of the 52, 40 are active on the market, 1 is Subject to inspection, 3 are pending, and 8 have closed since the beginning of the year.
The houses in Brier range from a 2 bedroom/1 bath for $320,000 to a 5 bedroom/4.5 bath for $1,358,000. Ironically the top and bottom for price in Brier are actually pretty close to each other! One of my favorite things about Mountlake Terrace is that once a year the city puts on the annual garage sale. This weekend, you can literally drive around to hundreds of garage sales! It is quite the neighborhood thing to do, too - The city encourages clean up by allowing garage sales all weekend without a permit and people come out for this event! After all the garage sales are over, Waste Management picks up UNLIMITED trash from their customers on trash day. I love Seattle's Eastlake neighborhood! I think it has the perfect combination for someone who wants to live in the outdoors, but also in the city - great shops and restaurants plus easy access to the freeways. Eastlake seems to have a park for everything and living is good! Buying now in Eastlake is a great investment considering all that is going on in South Lake Union...................

Seattle suburbs in the north have a fabulous library system! I love the convenient online ordering system - you can order anything in the entire system to be picked up at your local library. Go through their catalog and order as much as you want - they call to tell you that the items are at the building for pick up and will hold them for a few days if it isn't convenient to pick them all up right away.

Brier is so lucky to have such a wonderful library - it may be little, but this smaller library packs a punch and offers all the same wonderful perks of other Sno-Isle Regional libraries. Check out DVDs, CDs, books, etc., and the children's reading section is adorable.

I just got told by a Seattle mortgage broker that one of my closings in escrow might be delayed because the lender is backed up! I will be on top of this one to see what I can do to help, but thought that it was interesting since the media is still saying our market is slow......

Some builders in the Seattle Suburbs are putting developments up so fast that they are way off of my GPS! Most of the time the site agents are pretty good about giving out decent directions, but I like to drive around and check out the new construction sites in the different suburbs to see what is going on! For me, the best end product is all about granite slab and FRANKE sinks, but I love to see the humble beginnings!

I have had lots of coffee around Seattle and my very favorite is still Chad & Vicky's Espresso in Mountlake Terrace, WA. Mountlake Terrace and Brier residents have a real treat in this coffee shop located in the most unlikely spot!
