It's OPEN, the Annual Christmas on the Cumberland opened on Tuesday, November 20 for the season. Thousands of people come out to see the twinkling lights and they come from all over Middle Tennessee. The display is free and open to the public every evening until January 1, 2019. The location is at the Riverwalk on Riverside Dr. in McGregor Park.

After years of planning and construction the park is finally ready to open. Tuesday was a busy day with worker bees all over putting on the final touches.
This is a Montgomery County park located in the heart of Downtown Clarksville at 215 Legion St. There are plans of music events to be announced for later in the year. There will be art and plenty of places to sit and enjoy.

The weather was rainy and cold so it was a perfect day to visit the Country Music Hall of Fame. Others thought the same thing and the lines were long. This was a very enjoyable day learning about the roots of country music and reminiscing and singing along with some great musical talents.

This is the 19th year for the Annual Christmas on the Cumberland River is opening on Tuesday, November 21 for the season brings in thousands of people from all over Middle Tennessee to see the decorations and lights along the river at the Riverwalk in McGregor Park.
The opening ceremony is at 5:30 PM with the lighting of the lights by the City Mayor, caroling, and other activities.

43rd Annual Old Time Fiddlers Championships in Clarksville.

Serendipity Sundays- The Beach Boys
Another iconic group in the music industry is The Beach Boys. Luckily, I got to see them perform this week for another excellent concert. The group has change from the last time I saw them but they were still awesome.
The concert was loud, fun and had people rocking in the aisles. People were dressed in floral beach shirts and had sunglasses on. It was held at the Ryman Auditorium, the Home of the Grand Ole Opry. Music sounds its best in this venue as the sound bounces off the arched wood ceilings making the acoustics optimized.

Serendipity Sundays- The Oak Ridge Boys
There are icons in the music industry and the Oak Ridge Boys have made it to that status. Not like some of the other groups from long ago, they have continued to be strong and have a rigorous concert schedule.
The original Boys started in the late 40's near Knoxville, TN. Those first members phased out as the current Boys joined one by one. William Golden (the long white beard) joined in 1965. Duane Allen in 1966 and Richard Sterban joined the group in 1972 and in 1973, Joe Bonsall completed the set.

Another fun Saturday night is planned to Clarksville music lovers are Jazz night at Beachaven Winery. Jazz on the Lawn. This free musical concert is more than listening to fine music it is a place to gather, picnic and drink wine.
