I haven't yet had the pleasure of seeing a show with The Blue Man Group, but that is going to change. The Blue Man Group is coming to Denver in December and we have decided to make it a family affair and take the kids. Now that they are getting a bit older, they love to go to shows from time to time and I think they will really enjoy this one. From what I have heard, it is a fantastic family fun show! Denver Races For The Cure and So Do I Tomorrow is a big day for my family. Sunday, October 5th is the Denver Komen Race for The Cure. My wife has now participated in the Race for ten years here in Denver and while the kids and I have been supporters and even team members that Sleep In For The Cure, this year is the first year that we will all be active participants. As a hockey parent, I completely appreciate the opportunity to unload some old hockey equipment of my "growing-like-a-weed" son. So I was thrilled when I received an email letting me now that this Saturday, 8/9 the Ice Ranch is hosting a used hockey equipment swap in its parking lot. On Thursday, August 7th, the much looked forward to, annual Littleton Western Welcome Week will begin. The events continue for 11 days, with Festival Day on Saturday, August 16th. The Festival Day includes a Children's Firefighters Parade, The Grand Parade, and the Arts & Craft Fair throughout the streets of old Littleton. If you are any type of golf fan and are around Denver, you probably already know that next week the PGA Men's Senior Open will be held in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor. As the temps in Denver near 100 this weekend and as I plan my own trip to Water World with my family for next week (we are going on Monday is the weather cooperates) - I thought I would re-post this list that I made from last summer of Denver Area Water Parks. A Favorite Denver Photo - Purple Mountains Majesty Independence Day in Denver- 2008 Every now and then I try to post a favorite picture or two of the Denver area. On the 4th of July, I had dinner in Lakewood at a home with a lovely view with my family. How appropriate that it was our Nation's Birthday. I believe this is what the the line..."Purple Mountains Majesty" was referring to....

Yesterday I did head over to Highlands Ranch Town Center with my family for a while for the Highlands Ranch Independence Day Celebration.
We went over in the afternoon, walked around a bit, the kids visited several booths and games. Their favorite was the magician, which was a kid that was fabulous. He couldn't have been more than 16 or 17.
We then walked over to Civic Green Park and splashed in the fountains for a while to cool off - good thing they were on, it was hot out - it must have been at least 95. … (3 comments)

June is almost over and 4th of July is this week! I can't believe it actually, the summer is flying by. Last year for the 4th, we were actually not in town at all, but rather on vacation. So I am pretty glad to stay-put this year and be home for the celebrations. The kids are too. I think our plans will be to hang out at home during the day and then head over to the celebration in Highlands Ranch at Town Center in the evening.
