denver real estate: Living in Greenwood Village: Westlands Park - 04/06/07 02:28 AM
Westlands Park in Greenwood Village - A community Park that is anything but Ordinary!
Located in the heart of Greenwood Village, lies Westlands Park, a true gem on the scope of Denver metro area parks.  The park is quite large (more than 12 acres) and is more than just your average playground.
My own childrens' favorite activity is running in the fountains, in the summer of course.  Adjacent to a shady hill lies a variety of fountains to run, jump and play in.  And just nearby is one of the picnic shelters, perfect for that afternoon snack or evening picnic.  Mountain views abound and the the … (1 comments)

denver real estate: Living in Denver : Camping in Colorado - 03/27/07 04:17 AM
Where should I camp in Colorado?
So you live in the Denver area, or perhaps you just moved here or are about to.  And you want to experience the great outdoors - after all, the proximity of the Denver area to the vast selection of outdoor activities is almost endless.  And even now in the early spring, it is not too early to start planning them, especially if you want to go camping.  I do receive a lot of inquiries from clients that have relocated to the Denver area about where to go camping.  These inquiries come from all types, adventurous, … (0 comments)

denver real estate: Living in Highlands Ranch, Colorado: Redstone Park - 03/25/07 04:07 PM
Steve Scheer, Denver Real Estate

Redstone Park has many great offerings for its residents and visitors
Another high 60/low 70's day in March in the Denver area.  So, it was only 2 months ago that the streets were buried in snow, we were house bound and the deep freeze was upon us.  But here is the spring that Coloradans love and expect.  So what would you do if you lived in Highlands Ranch on such a day?  Well here's an idea -
Head to Redstone Park.
Redstone Park is located on the west side of Highlands Ranch, often referred to … (2 comments)

denver real estate: Events in Denver, CO - The Premier of the Broadway Muscial, Disney's The Little Mermaid - 03/24/07 02:48 PM
Tickets are now on sale for the The Denver Center for Performing Arts performance of Disney's The Little Mermaid at the Ellie Caulkins Opera house.  If you have recently relocated to Colorado or have not yet been to the newly rennovated Ellie Caulkins Opera House, it is fabulous.  Whether you live downtown or one of the many suburbs, it is worth making the drive into the city to see the new facility.
The performance itself is a premier event, it is actually going to first run in Denver before going to Broadway.  The performances begin on July 26th and will run until September 9th, … (0 comments)

denver real estate: Buyer's Agent in Colorado - Do you really need one? - 03/24/07 01:20 PM
It isn't unusual for me to get that question when someone is looking at purchasing Denver CO real estate, especially when a buyer is looking at new construction.  But here are the facts.
In most all cases, a buyer does not pay the commission of their buyer's agent.  The seller does. So in the case of the first time home buyer, or out of state relocation, it may be tempting to try and go at it alone or use the listing agent, but that is not always the wisest choice.  First of all, if the seller is paying the commission, then … (11 comments)

denver real estate: Living in Denver, CO: Its Just Buggy: Big Bug Exhibit at the Denver Botanic Gardens - 03/15/07 06:49 AM
When I am not busy selling Denver Real Estate, there is nothing I like better than finding new things to do with my family in Denver.  I am quite excited about this upcoming one.  The Denver Botanic Gardens is one of my favorite places in the mile-high city and the spring exhibit is going to be just fabulous.
The last week of March kicks off this grand event with David Rogers' Big Bug Exhibit.  Rogers sculptures are card form wood and look fantastic.  In Denver we will have a spider carved of black walnut, a 17 foot long Dragonfly from red cedar and many … (2 comments)

denver real estate: Denver Real Estate: What Hapens When an Agent Takes a Vacation - 03/14/07 03:36 PM
It always happens.  Nearly every single time.  4 - 6 days before my upcoming, oh-so looking forward to it vacation, its quiet.  Strangely quiet.  And then Day 1-3 before take off, my Denver real estate business gets busy - the phone starts ringing, the fax starts beeping, emails chime - all at the same time - you get the picture.  I get busy.  And I love it.  Not sure why my karma makes this happen, but its all ok.
So, yes I am very busy the last few days before I leave Denver, and yes, my wife generally has to pack … (3 comments)

denver real estate: And The Record Stands - 02/21/07 01:14 AM
And the Record StandsSteve ScheerDenver Area Real Estate
Its no secret that December and January were crazy here in Denver and we had record setting snow fall.  I had several customers throughout those weeks looking at Denver real estate from out of state that were weary and nervous that this amount of snow is normal here.  And it really isn't.  The weeks surrounding the storms were much colder than it can generally be here in Colorado and typically our snow will melt much faster than it has this winter.

But as February turned into the more milder winter that … (4 comments)

denver real estate: Denver Restaurant Week 2007 is Almost Here! - 02/15/07 12:47 PM
Denver Restaurant WeekSteve ScheerDenver Real Estate
So often I will have a Denver real estate client that relocates to Denver and will ask me many questions about the local area.  Steve, Where does your wife get her hair cut?  Who cleans your carpets?  And where do you go to eat?  Well, its no secret that Denver restaurants have claimed a voice of their own & we have attracted some of the top chefs in the country to open shop in Denver.
So, how do you decide where to go when there are so many to choose from.  There are the … (1 comments)
