Cardiff (a.k.a. Cardiff by the Sea) is a charming, and eclectic, beach town a few miles south of Carlsbad bordering the San Elijo Lagoon. While it is officially part of Encinitas, Cardiff has its own zip code (92007) and a distinctive feel in the two residential areas west of the 5 and near the downtown area - The Walking District and the Composer District.

Built on hills overlooking the ocean, many properties have dramatic whitewater, ocean and lagoon views, and Cardiff State Beach is a terrific place for surfing, strolling, and watching the sunsets. And don't miss the famous Cardiff Kook surinf statue, on the Coast Road at the end of Chesterfield. Watch for his costumes throughout the year.
