Even though my Carolina Panthers lost, I am relieved Football is back in full swing.
Mexico and parts of Texas are in a drought, and so was my mind when it came to football. Thankfully football arrived on schedule, on time, and within my budget.
I know some crowds do not revere the onset of football (pro and college combined) as a significant point on the calendar, but I do. Yes I appreciate baseball, fine sport. But my hat’s off to football.
I care if my teams win or lose. But even if they lose, I like the contest anyway. Sure I’ll scream at plays that should have been better or “gone our way”. But the significant fact is that the games are in motion and my teams are in play. Let the Fall ritual begin!
Tail gating, great food, screaming fans, usher in an air of excitement. Here in Charlotte we love our Panthers and tailgating is a sport in and of it's own. Nothing moves fans like the wins and losses of their team.
The point of this is to acknowledge the beginning of the season and welcome the end of a drought.  
So in preparation, I have replaced the batteries in my remote and dusted off the big screen. The command ... more
