Over the past two decades we have made tremendous strides and gains in woman's health care issues.  Early detection has saved thousands of women afflicted with breast or cervical cancer.
 
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
The younger you are when breast cancer strikes - the greater the chances that the cancer will be aggressive.
You do not have to have a relative with breast cancer to be striken with it.
Untreated breast cancer which spreads beyond the breast reduces the chance of survival to under 5 years.
 
The survival rate for breast and cervical cancer has greatly increased due to early screening and detection.  A new vaccine was developed for many of the viruses linked to cervical cancer. It's a life saving vaccine.  Cervical cancer appears to be directly linked in a majority of cases to sexual activity.  There has been a huge education process to immunize young women who are sexually active.Once viewed as the less equal of the species, we have fought the male dominated insurance and medical industry.
