Here's Looking At You!

As the second snow storm this week is dumping on my house, I find peace in looking at photos from a warmer climate.  Actually this was taken at the Butterfly Pavilon, so only the climate indoors was better.  
Tips for shooting butterflies, go when they are sleeping!  Early morning before the sun rises in the sky, the butterflies are more dormant.  They lay around on leaves and hang upside-down providing wonderful profiles for a photographer.
Once the sun rose and warmed the room, they woke and started flying around.  Unless you have a large and fast lens it's really hard to catch them in flight.
On this trip, we arranged for a group of photographers to have access prior to the venue opening.  Once opened we could stay, but our tripods were not allowed.
