Why Go to a Toastmasters International Club?
I have attended Toastmasters for several years now, and I have given some good speeches, probably some mediocre speeches, smile,  and hopefully no bor r r ing speeches,  but every speech I have ever given, I have strengthened my public speaking skill.
That would be enough right there to attend Toastmasters.   After all  included in the mission of the club is to encourage and support each member to improve their speaking and communication skills.
However, another reason that  Toastmasters is so beneficial is the opportunity to hear wide array of  high value, content dense speeches,  which are presented with polish and flair and easy-to- listen, entertaining format.  
This week at Abilene Toastmasters on  Monday evening at 7:00 at TSTC (Texas State Technical College, E Hwy 80 in the Arbec Room)  I heard a professional and seminar quality talk that gave tips to encourage creativity in children (and adults!)
The second speaker presented with pizzaz and polish on time management.  Now you might think what is so fascinating about time management?  This speaker had creative visuals of rocks and sand in a jar.  The rocks in the jar are the most important goals and  the sand in the jar represented all those time waster s and  unimportant stuff that covers up the rocks in the jar and makes a mess of ... more
