A renter will never care about his home as much as the homeowner.
Quite frankly I have never been nor do I want to be a landlord.  Why you may ask is if I would ever buy a property and have someone rent or lease it I would expect them to take care of the property as much as I would.  My wife and I clean rentals when people move out and for the life of me I cannot understand why people do what they do.  It seems some renters just damage the property for spite.  Now before you get on your soapbox there are some who leave the property in good shape.  I am speaking for the vast majority it's just a shame.  That my two cents
