Blind Luck...
One of the best advantages to living in Odenton, MD is the proximity to soooo many things. Location, location, location! We got the chance to visit Delaware Park for the first time this Saturday and despite the rain, had a fantastic time. I’ve been following the 3 year old campaign of a great filly- Blind Luck. She won the Kentucky Oaks (the filly- horse speak for young female, version of the Kentucky Derby) and I was disappointed when they didn’t run her in the Black Eyed Susan (filly version of Maryland’s Preakness). 
When I heard she was running in Saturday’s Grade 2 Delaware Oaks, I jumped at the chance to see her run in the flesh. Delaware Park has a great set up! There is a picnic area with lots of tables, a volleyball court, a play ground, sandbox, and pony ride area.

There were several families grilling despite the rain. The Park is also home to White Clay Creek Country Club and a golf course. Both of which are open to the public. The paddock area (where the horses are saddled and the jockeys mount) is gorgeous and provides a great view of the world class horses and trainers.
