Earlier today I was struggling to find a close pin that I absolutely positively knew was in the junk drawer in my kitchen. I dug through the piles of clutter and random odds and ends, but to no avail. This afternoon I opened my inbox and there was an email from Real Simple on none other than THE junk drawer. Wow. It's Fate. Thus, I decided it would probably be a great idea for me to reach out to all you fellow owners of "THE drawer." You know what it is. Where it is. Not exactly what's in it, but you know exactly what I'm talking about. No more hiding behind that organized facade. Let's get it out there and conquer it together. Here are a couple steps that can maybe save us all from certain disorganization. 
1. Take everything out. We've all tried the old trick of pulling it into the corners that seems like it would save time. It doesn't. 
2. Sort, sort, sort. Spread it all out and think to yourself, "Have I used this in the past year?" If your answer is no, trash it. If it is, "No, but I might need it," trash it. Maybe watch ... more
