Be Sure to Get Rid of the Pet Smells First

In looking at houses for sale, a buyer's senses kick in as they walk through the front door.  They are in tune to the sights, smells and sounds associated with that house. 
And the smell of a pet, can certainly turning a ready, willing and able buyer away.  Masking the smells in a property with air fresheners, potpourri or scented candles will not remove the pet scent. Often, it exaggerates it even more.
Carpets should be cleaned or replaced and floors should be mopped thoroughly before the property goes up for sale. Pet bedding should be removed or cleaned.
I've seen buyers turn around and leave a house before they even got all the way inside, due to pet odors.
