Czech Stop
Today I attended the Jahns family reunion in Rosebud, TX.  We go twice a year and for those of you that frequent the trip from Dallas to Austin, you probably already know about this little secret off the Highway and if not it is time you do.  Less than halfway from Waco to Dallas is a funny little gas station called the Czech Stop in West, TX.  There should be no excuses you should just stop!Kolaches originally are from Central Europe they were the sweet chosen to represent the Czech Republic.  They are a pastry consisting of fruit fillings to cheeses and/or meats inside a bread roll. My favorites are the cream cheese kolaches: tasty bread stuffed with a mildly sweet cream cheese and topped with a spot of lemony sugar. Wow they are delicious.  They also make the orginal Kolaches which are made from prunes these are a favorite of the man in my life.  He let me have a bite I never thought that a prune kolache could be so tasty.  They have so many different flavors cherry, lemon, pumpkin with cream cheese, raspberry, cherry cream cheese, and apricot.  (I am sure they have many other flavors these are ... more
