If 80% of buyers are buying PURPLE homes, then paint your house PURPLE!
Carla, you are so right that sellers need to declutter and neutralizetheir homes before placing them on the market. Buyers today want to be able to see their own belongings in a home. When a home is cluttered with "very personal items and paint choices" the buyer is distracted from the square footage and details of the home they are looking at, this is not good for a seller. I understand that only 10% of buyers are visual or can look passed purple paint to see a $20 gallon of paint will make a huge difference. Buyers have so many choices on the market today they will simply walk out of that home and chose another home that was staged and looks like Pottery Barn, it can be exactly the same cookie cutter home but one needs nothing done and is move in ready. Think about it, which would you chose?!
Ok, hopefully 80% of buyers aren't painting their homes purple, but, if they were....

We do need to point out to our sellers, that they're not buying the house, someone else is buying the house and we need the house to appeal to those potential buyers.
