Citi has different divisions: Citibank, Citimortgage, Citifinancial. They do offer homeowner assistance. One of the options that you have if you are having trouble making your mortgage payments is a Short Sale. I recently took a Short Sale listing in Los Angeles. Both first and second loans are with Citimortgage.
Citimortgage, citifinancial, citibank has what they call a Workable Solutions Package. The package includes an application which will contain information about the borrower, address, employment information, whether or not your property has been listed for sale, borrower's monthly income, monthly expenses, some general questions and an explanation of your hardship (like the short sale hardship letter). Among other documents that Citi requires for the short sale package are: Last 2 months bank statements, last 2 months pay stubs, last 2 years of income tax returns.
