5 ways you can make your trip safer and easier

If you’re planning a trip this holiday season, whether by yourself, with friends or with family, here are a few tips to make your life a little easier:
1.       It’s not really lost if… Scan your important documents (tickets, car rental agreements, passports, licenses, itinerary details, etc.) and email them to yourself in a web-based email program you can access from anywhere. For added security, zip the files together into a password protected archive (using something like WinZip, which works on Mac and Windows or BetterZip 2 on Mac systems).
2.      Make a list and check it twice. List all the absolute necessities for traveling (prescriptions, extra glasses, passports, visas, medications such as ibuprofen and Pepto-Bismol, etc.) — make sure you have enough of everything you need. Organizing and bagging these items into resealable plastic bags is a good way to protect them and keep them handy. Pack a few extra bags in your suitcase as well.
