The rage that burnt within me…
In the past, my demeanor may have been described as “passionate.”  I always had strong feelings about the world and the life experience.
Over the last few years, however, the roaring blaze has burned down to a few glowing embers. Now older, and hopefully wiser, I accept the realization that I am but a single worker ant in the colony and that life “is what it is!”
There was a time when I thought that I could change the world. Now I realize that the world changed me.
I haven’t watched the news in years. I am now working on a bigger cocoon to insulate myself from the things that I cannot control or change.
And even though a spark may flare up every now and then, it is quickly extinguished and I move on.
I have to admit, it’s a wonderful feeling to know that I am NOT all that important after all!
