Diboll Texas
Deep in the East Texas Piney Woods is Angelina County.
 
One of the note worthy small communities on the cusp of the entry to Lufkin, in this Colorful County, is Diboll Texas.
 
The luxurious forest makes a lovely place to live.  From the cute townsite to the varied country cages,  this community exudes charm.
 
According to the brief historical facts found,  this has always been a timber town.
 
It sounds as if it had its beginnings in the early 1900s.  A sawmill quickly evolved into two, and then during the great depression, the town pooled its resources and funds to keep it going.
 
It is an amazing story of perseverance!  It is also a tri ute to American creativity.   True to the American dream, it has been a slow but steady success story.
 
The town expanded to include a large commissary, Doctors offices, a Post Office, groceries, drug stores and schools.
 
The major industry continues to be timber. According to one of the residents, The company has
recently been sold to International Paper Co.
