Poway Has a Rendezvous With Destiny

Each year near the end of Summer, the community of Poway celebrates it's history in living color. That would be in the form of live reenactments of it's trailblazing and early settlements days. 

There were about 20 different historical encampments spread around the various areas of Old Poway Park that surrounds the Old Poway Midland Railroad which lends so much authentic atmosphere to this wonderful event.

 The Poway Rendezvous features life as it was in the west during the early 1800's. Living history groups brings the rendezvous event to life. During the Gold Rush days, California was a hotbed of new groups of people making their way from the Eastern part of the country to find and make their fortunes and a new life.
Since the original inhabitants of the area were still thriving here, conflicts of the homesteaded land and the original owners was not very peaceful. The US Calvary come to protect those as they settled until the towns could set up their own peace keeping forces.
