A Slow Down Button! Anyone?
Every time I see the Easy Button commercial I think to myself yes, that would come in handy occasionally [you know those days when it rains, it pours] but actually what I really, really want is a Slow Down Button! Apparently my subconscious agrees and is instructing my brain to act accordingly. Last week were Back-to-School nights and the one I had to attend was scheduled for 6 pm (or so I thought). 6 pm on a Monday night means major scheduling challenges - afternoon appointments, a school bus, gymnastics practice, picking up the little one and throw in an ugly commute for hubby - but we managed to sort it all out. I arrived at the school 5 minutes early [feeling very proud of this perfect-scheduling-accomplishment], looked at the announcement to verify that the 1st grade parents were to meet in the Cafeteria and went and took my seat. I even thankfully accepted the 1st grade print-outs ... and while looking through those, I glanced up to see the 1st grade teachers walk in. And then it hit me. I am at the wrong meeting! My daughter is a 2nd grader now! How in the world ... ?Yes.. a Slow ... more
