Metro North resumes trains to NYC from Mt Kisco to Grand Central -FREE
Beginning, Thursday November 1, 2012, Metro North is resuming trains to the City for the Harlem line from Mt Kisco into the Grand Central and the New Haven line from Stamford to Grand Central.  The Hudson line remains suspended until further notice due to extensive storm damage.
 
Fares will be free for this Thursday and Friday.
 
They are trying to prevent people from driving in the City, and would try to avoid it by all means given all the reports on the radio - it was complete gridlock yesterday and most traffic lights are still out.  Right now, by order of the Mayor, only high occupancy vehicles of 3 or more are allowed in cars.  Most people from Westchester take the trains anyway, and I would highly encourage this mode of transportation.  Let's allow them to clear the roads and
 
I would allow extra time - both for the drive to the station (there are still a lot of trees on the road, and many traffic lights are out of service, and several lanes and roads closed) and the service on the train is a bit limited (and it might be a bit crowded with fewer trains ... more
