I will not shop on Thanksgiving!
I am taking a pledge NOT to shop on Thanksgiving. Vote with your dollars and your conscience! For many years, my Mom, Vineda Hall England, worked in a nursing home. She often worked on holidays, and we understood that. Having to work on Thanksgiving or Christmas at a non-essential job is another thing ENTIRELY.
I will not shop on these days, no matter what incentive the stores advertise. Let's just keep Thanksgiving for itself. Christmas can wait one more day. In fact, since Christmas decorations are already in stores, Thanksgiving Day is actually only a recess from Christmas. Let's at least allow it to keep that status. I'd like to see the stores empty, so Thanksgiving doesn't become as maddening as Black Friday. Give these employees a break!
