The Sandia Mountains Snow Capped at Sunset

The Sandia Mountains Snow Capped at Sunset are truly beautiful.  This granite mountain is beautiful anyway especially when you are hiking among the huge granite boulders, spires and various pines.  From a distance you don’t really think about trees being apart of this rocky landscape but indeed they do survive and even thrive.  The other side of this rocky wilderness is the Cibola National Forest and the Sandia Ski area and the landscape is predominantly pine trees.  Here are a few shots taken Jan 28th, 2013 just after a light snow capped the Sandia Mountains.
