"The One Thing" Big or Small you have to start somewhere
 
When I started reading this chapter I had to laugh because I have been using the "One Thing" speech since I saw "City Slickers" and have molded it to different situations.  Chapter one of "the One Thing' is about multi-tasking.  There has been a big buzz about multitasking lately or at least I have noticed a lot more written about this subject.  One post I read in The New Atlantis “The Myth of Multitasking” by Christine Rose, that in 2005, the BBC reported on a research study, funded by Hewlett-Packard and conducted by the Institute of Psychiatry at the University of London, that found, “Workers distracted by e-mail and phone calls suffer a fall in IQ more than twice that found in marijuana smokers.
So I agree with Gary's ideas about thinking small and understanding the notion sometimes we need to multi-task, were realtors, crap happens.  I have been working on something for the last year regarding my own multi-tasking situation.  I have started making small lists each night for the next day.  On these lists I arrange the items conscientiously to affect my sub conscience.  I arrange my list from the easiest to hardest so my  first item usually ... more
