I have a friend who recently purchased a duplex in South lake Tahoe on the California side and has dolled up one half to make a vacation rental.  She can't seem to stop herself from making more and more improvements and the place is now ready to rent.  All the amenities and luxiries of a much more expensive rental, but at introrductory rates.
