KNOWLEDGE IS A GREAT TOOL!
 
BUYER BEWARE!
 
Last week, I was contacted by a very nice couple who were being transferred to Ottawa and wanted to purchase a new home.  They did their homework and were so happy that all they needed to do is to view the location and have me (their real estate agent) review the paperwork and its a done deal.
 
So, off to the site we go, and first thing that strikes me is that there are hydro towers running just behind the Buyers property.  So I point this out to them and they say “that’s OK doesn’t bother us”.  I said no, but are you thinking of potential resale.  They said – no its OK.  Then while looking at the model home, I noticed that there was a planned and approved transit way behind the property line – WAIT A MINUTE – I tell my Buyers did you know about the transit way – No was their response.
 
The next bit of news was their neighbours would be a development of condos.  That was the last straw.  They said they could live with the hydro towers, were a little upset with the transit way but the condos ... more
