Separating the "I wants" from the "Must Haves" here in Rocky Mount, NC
I want, I want, I want...
Do you have a hard time separating the "I wants" from the "Must Haves" when it comes to buying a home here in Rocky Mount, NC.  Most people do and then they cannot decide on a suitable property.  So, how do you solve this problem if you cannot afford to build a custom home.
     
First, sit down and make a list of everything that you would ideally like to have in the home you are purchasing, including location and amenities.  Get everyone involved that will be living in the home, even the ones that are not taking out the mortgage or paying on the loan.  Someone else may come up with something that you did not think about.  Yes, that does mean you may get the fenced back yard for a puppy or swing set but it may also mean a heated driveway so the snow and ice won't accumulate.
       
Now, each individually, write down three things that you could not or would not live without in the property.  Each person may have different items, but you may be surprised that you have some things in common.  Prioritize! ... more
