Adventures in Real Estate - Those Odd Spaces
Do you love homes with character?  How about those old homes that have the most curious nooks and crannies?  While working with a couple last fall we came across dozens of these spaces. We dubbed them Narnia after The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe.  Seemingly innocent closet doors that opened into ridiculously sized rooms, surprise doors and attics large enough to live in. Here are a few of my favorites.   Cape Cod style homes are known for having 2nd floors with slanted ceilings and ample storage in the eves.  One home we came across had a tiny door at the end of the hallway.  It was narrow and easily only 4 feet in height. Excellent, some storage outside the bedroom.  We opened the door and to our surprise there was a giant room!  Ok, it wasn't giant, but well more than we expected.  It had the slanted Cape walls along with a window with a view of the front yard.  Some insulation and drywall and this place could be more than just storage!
