Another big mistake buyers make when buying a home is either by not hiring a good agent or by not hiring a buyer agent at all.
You can ask your friends who purchased a home recently for recommendations or interview agents before you sign a buyer agency contract.
If you can only see homes on weekends you should not hire an agent who does not work on weekends.
You should hire an agent who is a good listener and will listen to you .
Hire an agent who is a good negotiator .
Hire an agent who returns phone calls in a timely manner .
Ask for references .
Google the agent and find out more about the agent. Check out the agent's web site and blog.
After you get prequalified  for a mortgage, the next step is to   hire a good agent.
