Invest - Fortune Cookie Friday

The weekend is coming up and in the 9 to 5 world that means some free time.        How will you be investing your time?
Spend versus invest.  What's the difference?
Let's talk in terms of money.  Purchasing an item or service costs you money, your pocket book winds up with less in the end: buying a car, a pack of gum, cable TV.  Investing your money gives your the expectation that at some point in time you will get back more than you put in:purchasing a house, buying stocks.
Why should your time be any different?  We spend time playing games on the computer, watching TV or doing household chores.  I’m not saying don’t do those things because chores need to be done and games help our sanity. Maybe take a few minutes to decide on the importance of that task at that moment.  Eliminate petty tasks and events. Use your time, especially free time, to get back more than you put in.
Volunteer at a homeless shelter.
         Go to that tea party your daughter invited you to.
                       Take your dog for a walk.
