Crime Is Up
At least from my perspective it seems that crime is up. I mean, working from ADT, the company with more requests in the country, that is what we are seeing. In my case, the number of appointments sparked by break-ins has increased in the last three months, and not only that, the "sophistication" and "resolve" of the burglars seems to be on the rise as well.
These are some cases that I have attended recently:
-Evans Family: A retired couple living in Miami Shores. Right around christmas they had a break-in. The burglar broke the glass of the front door stuck the hand inside and opened the door. They took away all the christmas presents, a flat screen TV, plus jewlery. We won the bid and provided them with a system based on motion detectors. It was not appropiate at that moment to protect the current windows because they will be replacing them soon with hight impact glass windows, which are excellent for protection against burglary.
-Pipkin Family: This ADT customers had a break-in mid January. The modus operandi of the burglars was to first cut the phone line (to interrupt communication with ADT's monitoring center), and once inside they disconnected the Indoor Sounder ... more
