Deerwood Arboretum in Brentwood TN
Deerwood Arboretum in Brentwood TN
Deerwood Arboretum in Brentwood TN is tucked away in the back of a neighborhood. If you didn’t see the sign on Granny White Pike, you might miss it altogether. You can access the park via Belle Rive subdivision off of Granny White Pike or via Williamson Estates off of Murray Lane. The 27 acre park is located at 320 Deerwood Lane.
Here are some of the features you’ll find there: 2 ponds, an outdoor classroom, restroom and water fountain, pavilion, and access to Little Harpeth River. 70 species of trees are identified throughout the park. A foot bridge connects the park with the Laurelwood subdivision. A leg of the trail connects to Belle Rive Drive. The pavilion may be reserved in advance for educational purposes.
The main looped trail is just under a mile long and runs alongside The Little Harpeth River. It is about 10 feet wide and has enough room for walking, running, biking, skating, etc. The trail is partially shaded with mature trees. Benches are situated throughout the park and along the trail. There are a couple of river access areas for your dog to get a drink or to cool your feet on a hot summer’s day.
