My First Real Estate Experience
I was hot off the presses from real estate school when one of my fellow agents asked if I could sit an open house on a Sunday for her. She mentioned that not one person came in on Saturday, and she hoped that I'd have better luck. So I arrived early, put out my directional arrows, balloons and set up my material. Because I hadn't eaten breakfast that day, I also stopped and picked up some fast food to nibble on later on.
A few lookers stopped by, including a very young woman with a toddler. After asking some strategic questions, I determined that this young mother was ready to buy a home - cash for her and her small children. Meanwhile the fast food that I'd been nibbling on had suddenly caused a very bad reaction, I felt like I was going to either be sick or need to go the hospital. Doing my best to hide my symptoms, I showed the home and explained the buying process to the young woman. Finally, she agreed that I could show her homes and that we'd start a home search that week.
