Forest Greens Golf Club is a delightful public golf club just ten minutes drive down I-95 from Woodbridge Virginia.
You'll find the course to be challenging and fun, set in rolling hills that wind through forest land.  The fairways are wide, with generous landing zones.  The greens speed is a definite medium.  Forest land flanks the fairways and greens.  Slice or hook a ball, and you might be looking for your ball in the woods.  The woods are open, and balls are usually easy to find.
You'll get an easy start on the first faiway, driving your ball from an elevated green.  The second hole fairway is short, so a long drive can place your ball within striking range of a sand wedge.  
My favorite hole is number 11; The fairway falls away from the tees, with the fairway growing ever steeper as you progress down the fairway.
Lots of nice folks play there.  I play at least once a week, and I am often paired-up with folks with whom I have played.
