How's your market?
I'm a REALTOR in the Central Louisiana market.  We experienced a shift to a buyer's market a few years ago, as did the rest of the country.  However, we were apparently not hit as hard since we didn't experience the large housing "bubble" that occurred elsewhere. 
If you are considering a move to Louisiana or to the south central United States, our market is where you need to be.  Real estate remains a good investment.  If you plan to be here for more than two to three years, you SHOULD be able to see a return on your investment.  Of course, the longer you stay, the more the return. 
So, how's your market?  Is it as bad as the media portrays?
