10 Tips for a fun and safe Halloween, Halloween 2014, Halloween Safety


Halloween is definitely one of the most unique holidays.  Follow these simple tips to ensure you have a fun and safe Halloween!

-If you will be away from your home on Halloween night, check in with a couple of neighbors who are planning to stay in for the evening.  This way they can keep an eye on your home and alert you of anything out of the ordinary.  Motion sensor lights are also a good idea.
-Only serve commercially wrapped treats to trick-or-treaters visiting your home.
- If you are hosting a party make sure any guests consuming alcohol are of legal drinking age and are drinking responsibly.
-Make sure the path to your front door is clear and well lit.  Take a few moments to store flower pots and toys away from your porch and walk way and turn on your porch light as well as any other nearby lights.
 

-Keep dogs and cats away from the front door while you are handing out candy.  Pets can be easily startled by large numbers of visitors, especially those in scary costumes!
 -A good meal prior to parties and trick-or-treating will discourage youngsters from filling up ... more
