A class action law suit was filed Thursday against some of the top winemakers in the US. The lawsuit claims that there are very high levels of arsenic in some of the wines, up to 5 times the level that is allowed in our drinking water.

Two of the highest arsenic levels were found in Trader Joe’s 2 Buck White Zinfandel which contained 3 times the legal limit and Franzia Blush and White Grenache which had 5 times the limit; also on the list was Menage a Trois Moscato which had 4 times the legal limit of drinking water.

Arsenic is as bad for you as cigarette smoke and over time will kill you, many times in the form of cancer. The filer of the lawsuit wants California Wineries to “clean up the industry” and return money to the consumers. CBS news ... more
