Memorial Day and Why We Remember
MEMORIAL DAY AND WHY WE REMEMBER 
I can't remember a time where I didn't cry when "Taps" was played.  The slow, simple bugle cadence, with it's mournful sound, goes straight to my heart, my very soul.  It is, in it's simplicity, a universal reminder to us, to pause, reflect and remember those courageous men and women who have died to protect our freedoms.  I want to say thank you, from my heart for your service.  I am eternally grateful

It is not wars that we are remembering with this national holiday. Rather, we are remembering those who served and those who gave their last full measure of devotion in order to insure that the freedoms that this country offers to all would be able to be passed on to the next generations. We remember them because they tell us something of our human dignity.
