PEAK Delivery Day for the Biggest Package Carrier - UPS

It's Peak!
These were the words uttered by my husband every December.  After 36 peak seasons, he remembers it fondly.  Today UPS will deliver 36 million packages to customers all over the USA. FedEx will deliver another 14 million for a total of 50 million packages!  Amazing... My husband worked in just about every operation and department in UPS. 
 
All I remember was one tired husband who left at 5 am and did not return until 8 or 9 PM every day...(no matter what his position was).  Later in his 36 year career, the last two weeks before Christmas, the family didn't see him. He worked in the air hub at Ontario International Airport in SoCal. This past weekend is called "super weekend".  Planes are non-stop, processing packages from the air hubs to all the airports. It is quite a logistical nightmare that is pulled off with a precision that has no rival. 
 
In fact, this is the first time all the drivers worked on Sunday 12/20/15 to deliver residential packages.  The company will do everything in their power to ensure the UPS reputation is not tarnished.  The internet has changed the dynamics of package delivery for all time.
